LONDON WEEKEND PREVIEW: ReviveHer with DJ Nature
Lets face it, the current crop of stateside A-listers don’t always live up to their reputations deckside and anyone who caught Omar S at Krush at The Victorian Vaults in Shoreditch a few weeks back (a night we admittedly previewed) will no doubt attest to that. Therefore, even with 3 US heavyweights in town this weekend (Robert Hood at Machine, Kerri Chandler at the Red Bull Music Academy takeover of Plan B and Theo Parrish at Trouble Vision), for our event preview this week, we’ve opted for ReviveHer at Dalston Superstore. Returning to what’s pretty much their base, the brains of the operation James Cooper and his team line up DJ Nature (aka Milo Johnson) as headliner. The now NYC-based DJ/producer came to fruition almost 30 years ago as founding member of the the Massive Attack-spawing Wild Bunch collective in Bristol, before involvements with the East Coast house institution Nu Groove, then later James Lavelle’s iconic Mo’ Wax imprint in the mid-nineties. Nature is scheduled for a 3 hour set with support coming from ASBO-club duo Riotous Rockers, Bi-Bop (James Cooper) and Dazed Digital’s Junior Editor, Flora Yin-Wong. Daisy Ashford
